WEBSITE INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

How I handle information when you read this personal blog, contact me or use its interactive features.

Who is responsible for this website?

LaszloFabian.com is a personal blog owned by Fábián László Márió, acting as an individual. In this policy, ‘I’ and ‘the site owner’ refer to me. Questions about personal data can be sent to [email protected] or through the Contact page.

This policy concerns information handled through this website. A software company or learning platform you visit from one of my articles operates its own service and has its own privacy notice.

Messages, email forms and comments

The contact form asks for a name, email address and message. I use the information you submit to understand and answer your enquiry. Please include only the details needed for that purpose and avoid sending passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information.

If you use an email sign-up or download form, the submitted email address and the request or consent associated with that form may be stored to handle what you asked for. Contacting me about an article does not by itself request marketing emails. You can withdraw a subscription request using an unsubscribe option in a message or by contacting me.

Where comments or reviews are enabled, the name and text you choose to publish may be visible to other readers. The comment system can also process an email address, IP address and browser information for moderation and spam prevention. Avoid posting information you do not want to make public.

Technical information and website security

Running the website involves technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps, browser or device information and error records. Hosting, content-delivery and security services may process this information to deliver pages, investigate faults and reduce abuse.

The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA to help distinguish legitimate messages from automated submissions. That service may process browser, device and interaction information under Google’s privacy and service terms. It is separate from the personal details you type into the message fields.

Cookies, analytics and your choices

Cookies and similar browser storage can support website preferences, security and measurement. The site includes Google Analytics tagging and Microsoft Clarity integration. When enabled, analytics can process page visits, browser or device information and interactions. Clarity can also provide session playback and heatmaps. The information processed depends on the tools, their settings and applicable consent signals.

Where a consent choice is presented, use it to manage the available optional categories. You can also use browser settings to block or remove cookies; doing so may affect some features. This policy does not treat simply reading the blog as consent to every optional form of tracking.

For information about the providers’ own processing, consult Google’s Privacy Policy and Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. These provider notices describe their services; they do not replace this website’s explanation of how information is used here.

Why information is used

The purposes are to deliver and secure the blog, respond to enquiries, moderate public contributions, fulfil an email request and understand how the website is used. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, handling ordinary enquiries and protecting the site is based on the legitimate interests in operating the blog and communicating with readers, subject to the rights of the people concerned. Consent is the basis for optional subscriptions or measurement where it is required. Information may also need to be retained or disclosed to meet a legal obligation.

Information may be handled by providers of hosting, content delivery, email, forms, analytics and security, as needed for their functions. Some providers may process data outside the country where you live. Their terms and privacy information explain relevant locations and transfer arrangements; contact me if you need more information about a specific website feature.

How long information is kept

Information is kept for the period needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including handling follow-up questions, moderation, security incidents and any applicable legal requirement. The appropriate period depends on the type of information and the reason for retaining it; data is not intended to be kept indefinitely without a continuing purpose.

Published comments may remain with the related discussion unless removed. Technical records, provider-held analytics and backups follow the retention settings and operational needs of the relevant systems. Contact me to ask about information associated with a particular message, form or contribution.

Questions and data-protection rights

Depending on applicable law, you may be entitled to request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. These rights can be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

Send a request to [email protected] and identify the message or feature concerned. I may need proportionate information to verify that a request relates to your data. You may also contact the data-protection supervisory authority relevant to your circumstances.

Changes to this policy

I will update this page when the description of the website’s processing changes. The date at the top identifies this version. Please contact me if a website feature or a statement here needs clarification.
